About Us
Welcome to Edmonton’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program. Having facilitated over 20 teacher training programs, we offer an abundance of experience, with facilitators accredited at the highest levels, and a learning environment that has been proven to consistently exceed the standards of excellence in education.
As an offering of Karma of Service, we are determined to provide our Yoga Teacher Training at the lowest price possible. With the rising costs of Yoga Teacher training programs, it becomes more challenging for those who wish to invest their time in this noble endeavour, to be able to gain access to it with most programs running for over $3500 today. We believe that Yoga should be financially accessible to everyone interested in pursuing this important path. As a result, Yoga Teacher Training programs will be offered at $2000 (plus tax). This low price is a direct reflection of quality of intention in facilitating teacher training. Space will still be limited to ensure the highest quality of training possible.
Registration is now open for all 2022 Sessions.
Our Program
This 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is for all students seeking to deepen their knowledge of the yoga practice, will provide them with the skill sets necessary to be successful in teaching yoga and sharing this passion and journey with others. This training has an increased emphasis on the intelligent alignment of poses, or asanas, (applying Western advances in understanding movement and the physical body to find a recognition that all bodies are different and learning how to modify each pose to accommodate these differences), and the journey towards the yogic lifestyle found both on and off the mat.
This program is non-competitive, and is open to anyone prepared to embark on this incredible path. Higher Love Yoga Academy is a Yoga Alliance accredited School, and upon successful completion, students will be able to register with the Yoga Alliance as RYT's (Registered Yoga Teacher), enabling them to teach yoga around the world. Before registering for any Yoga Teacher Training Program, be sure to check the Yoga Alliance website. Here you will find School ratings and read student reviews and feedback. Click here to see what the Yoga Alliance says about our school.
It is imperative that graduates of this program receive the highest quality of education available; as such, our programs have very limited capacity. This ensures the increased availability and attention of instructors with appropriate teacher:student ratios.
Next session begins January 2022.

I graduated my Yoga Teacher Training July 2015 but fell in love with yoga a few years before that. A few months after my training I took the plunge and taught my first public class and had the realization then that I needed to teach, to pass on what I know, to be a guide, and a lifelong learner through my students. There hasn’t been a class that I have taught where it felt like a job, there is always this feeling of pure elation to step to the front of the class and begin with just a breath.
I am a mom, wife and avid community volunteer and the busy life that comes with that I have always found time to connect with my mat and practice. It is through my yoga practice that I have rediscovered who I am beyond the labels that describe me. I prioritize me because I have realized that to serve my family, husband and community I need to be at my best, filled with energy and light, and taken care of.

Welcome to this beautiful journey! I am so happy to be able to share my passion for life and yoga with you! I have practiced and studied the art and science of yoga for the past ten years and finally completed my 200h teacher training under Sara Cueva with Higher Love Yoga Academy in December 2017. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done and at the same time the most rewarding. Yoga asana is just one eighth of the practice of yoga; a good teacher training delves into the other seven to help bring you closer to your ‘self’ and the beauty of life.
In addition to my RYT200 certificate, I have also completed Yin Level 1 & 2 and I am currently completing my 300hr teacher training. In Sept 2018, I completed my Yogafit for Warriors 100h training at the end of September 2018. This training deeply explores yoga as a tool to help calm the nervous system and is designed to help those living with chronic stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Mental wellness is extremely important to me and I believe that yoga has indeed provided a path for me in my own struggles with mental health.
I am also a Registered Nurse and have over 10 years of experience working in critical care environments such as ICU, CCU, emergency and Recovery room. These experiences and knowledge allow me to bring the basics of human anatomy to students completing the RYT200 program – a fundamental basis for the beginning yoga teacher to guide safe and competent classes or to simply practice on a deeper level with knowledge of body structure and movement.
Take this journey with us and become connected to our beautiful yoga teacher community. See you on your mat.

"Don't be afraid to stumble and fall down a little, because often it is doing what scares you the most that offers the greatest rewards" - OTH.
This quote represents my journey with yoga. I have realized that you have to fall to walk, as you have to fall to find your balance. Finding the strength to challenge those fears, doubts, attachments, insecurities, etc. by learning how to let them go, to laugh them off, to find the spontaneous play, and the ease, within the hard work and dedication, has had the most profound effect on my life. Understanding that it is necessary to fall.
This journey started for me when I walked into a studio for the first time, curious about this "physical" practice, I made my way into a hot room, and never really left. When I'm on my mat I feel like I am home, my practice has been everything I needed it to be, when I needed it to be. I am constantly expanding my practice by taking teacher training intensives, workshops, and teaching people who inspire me everyday. I teach so that I can help people to find whatever it is they need, in this moment, in their lives, and am so grateful to be a part of that discovery.
